I was really happy with the first round of debt they settled. The program was to last about 3 years. After about a year, they tried to offer transferring the program to someone else that would pay off the loan while they still worked to settle my debts but instead of paying for 2 more years the offer would be about the same amount of money each month for another 5 years. I obviously did not accept that because it was a horrible offer. I don’t know if it was because I didn’t accept that or they really just couldn’t negotiate offers as good for me as the first settlements but no other settlement offer was as good after that. I ended up settling an offer on our own and removing a debt. I believe I paid the original amount of money that it was supposed to be with all the debts on there and I ended up getting $50 refunded to me even though two were removed. We also used our entire tax refund check to try to end the program early so we could have money each month to pay for a second vehicle for our 6 person family. It took about 6 months and several phone calls from that time for everything to finally be resolved and get that refund. It felt like they were dragging their feet on it and that they settled the last debt just enough to use up all the money. The last phone call I had, I was told I could expect over $70 back if settled within a certain amount of time but it was only $50. I would say nearly everyone I spoke to was friendly though. The program did allow me to pay off those debts instead of spending years trying to pay it off with interest but our credit is terrible because of it and we are paying higher interest rates on our vehicles. Had the program continued the way it began I would recommend it but considering how everything ended up we aren’t exactly pleased.

Many of us are having a hard time paying our Credit Cards, like me for instance. Being a homeowner I had to choose between paying Morgage and or my CC’s. Terrible firm. They decided to use all I had saved up in my account the past few months for their sudden and unannounced "service fees" and are not negotiating with the creditors. I already negotiated one of my accounts as Gitmeid was not reliable. Just negotiate your debt on your own with your creditors. Do not bother with this firm. Also - they never told me that settled debt is considered income by the IRS and now I'll be taxed on the settled amount so I'll likely not have much of any savings.

Ive been with Gitmeid Law for a little over a year now and they have already resolved 4 out of 6 of my debts! They are fantastic about communicating and letting me know what's happening with my accounts. I was even sued by one of my creditors and Gitmeid Law took care of it in a timely manner and was able to negotiate a fair payment plan with them! Everything just hit me like a hurricane. I went from 737 to needing more help than I could have ever imagined. Luckily, everyone here being supportive and getting me through this has given me the confidence and has especially been the main reason I can wake up every day and feel confident that everything is getting worked out and that everything will be ok.

They promised to be able to save me and settle both my account for $4000 they did not and i graduated the program and am now paying a financial firm with high interest the same $8,000 balance I owed to begin with. I advise going another route they just took my money then basically sold my debt to another institution that is charging interest. Credit still takes the hit also. They make you feel like you’re progressing but run the numbers they just taking your money

I would say for what they offer, its a good program. My advice is take care of it yourself on your own. You can negotiate with the creditors and get settlements without the fees from Gitmeid on your own after you miss the payments initially. With the fees, sometimes its more than the initial debt, sometimes it's less. It does help when you're drowning to have some assistance, but in reality if you're not lazy you can negotiate yourself and save money. That's what I did with a few cards and it worked out better for me that way. But still a communicative, solid program with kind people helping out and worthwhile.
